About Ageless Grace® & Neuroplasticity
Ageless Grace ® is a fitness and wellness program. The program consists of 21 simple tools/exercises designed for all ages and abilities.
These exercises, based on everyday movements that are natural and organic, focus on the healthy longevity of the body and mind.
The 21 Tools have creative, imaginative names, so they are easy to remember. The movements are designed to be performed seated in a chair, standing near or behind a chair, down on the floor, or standing. Almost anyone can do them, regardless of most physical conditions.
There are now 1700 certified Ageless Grace® educators globally and there are educators in every U.S. state, Canada, the U.K., the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Africa. Educators are teaching in retirement communities, elementary schools, rehabilitation programmes, community centres, churches and synagogues, and in fitness centres.

Anti-Aging Benefits of Ageless Grace®
Each of the Ageless Grace® Tools emphasizes a different anti-aging technique, such as joint mobility, spinal flexibility, right-left brain coordination, kinesthetic learning, cognitive function, systemic health, balance, self-esteem, confidence and playfulness The easy-to-learn Tools promote the “three Rs” of lifelong comfort and ease—not reading, ´riting and ´arithmetic—but the ability to respond, react and recover efficiently and safely.
Intentionally nourishing the mind-body connection on a daily basis can help improve health and well-being, reduce stress, keep the brain agile and the body responsive. When body, mind, spirit and emotions are in balance, health and well-being follow. Ageless Grace offers something for each of these dimensions.
For the mind, there are right- and left-brain movement activities, numbering sequences of physical movements in patterns that play games with the mind; and there are mind-body directives that encourage the brain to consciously choose and direct the movement of the body in either a random or specific sequence.
For the emotions, there are sounds, words, expressions and “pretend” emotions that are used to inspire, stimulate, and release endorphins, while simultaneously allowing the body to release tension and tightness.
For the spirit, the movements incorporate imagery, creativity, variety, playfulness, polarities, sound and games, all performed to a wide range of music that encourages self-expression, nourishing the authentic self.
And finally, for the body, particular attention is paid to: range of motion and optimal function of the 13 major joints of the body; the 20 digits; the relationship of all the parts of the body to the whole; the redevelopment of the ability to move from the floor to standing and back again; the use of sensations such as flexibility, agility, mobility, stability and strength to restore and rejuvenate the body; the mind-body connection; the brain as stimulus for the central nervous system; and improvement of both cognitive and motor function, including balance.

Denise Medved – founder and creator of Ageless Grace®
The Ageless Grace® fitness programme had its genesis when Denise Medved, founder and creator of the programme, was studying in a graduate programme in gerontology.
Medved began to think about the possibilities if the focus was shifted away from accommodating physical limitations, to doing everything possible to forestall those limitations, or at least diminish the severity of them. She was convinced that many of the so-called inevitable signs of ageing were really not inevitable at all; they were simply “lack of practice” of the skills needed to maintain youthful function.
Medved has a substantial track record in the fitness industry, so she was familiar with movement and the human body. Her background enabled her to approach ageing with a different mindset. She felt it was time to change the model of ageing in the world, beginning with the brain. With this aim in mind, she spent seven years creating Ageless Grace®: 21 Simple skills for Lifelong Comfort and Ease™, incorporating the latest research in the field of neuroplasticity.
